French Quarter and Cathedral: A Photopost

New Orleans has been much on my mind over the past few days, because of the weather, and because my one and only sister is there, studying medicine at Tulane. Apart from losing power, she’s doing just fine. Since our visit, I’m also in love with the whole beautiful city – and because it’s all I can think about, here are some photos from our trip a few weeks ago. These are all from around the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter. We spent several days walking around the city, but the best day was when we got to sit on the steps of the cathedral, eating beignets and drinking coffee from Cafe du Mond, listening to the Youngfellas Jazz Band play a cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Some days it’s good to be a tourist :) Enjoy the photos!
