Happy New Year, folks! Last night we had pumpkin dutch baby pancakes (similar to the ones in the link, but sub canned pumpkin for the blueberries, and a Tsp of fresh grated nutmeg and a Tsp of cinnamon in place of the lemon zest. Top with maple syrup). I’ve always loved breakfast-for-dinner, but I think this recipe might have to be a New Year’s Eve tradition from here on out. Amazing!

Then we got all gussied up and went to a friend’s party, and out on the town to dance and celebrate the new year. Today I caught the first sunrise of the new year, then went back to bed and slept in. Got up, stayed in my pajamas all day, baked some bread and a pie. And that is what I am thankful for – the first hot loaf of fresh baked bread in 2013, on a dreary grey day in NC. May this year be full of promise and love and hope for us all.
